This policy applies to duskvein.com and to data we process directly in connection with the Duskvein game. The Steam storefront, Discord, and any other third-party platforms are governed by their own privacy policies.
We try to collect as little personal data as possible. Concretely:
We process personal data only for clearly defined purposes. Legal bases are the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP / nDSG) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
The website is hosted by an EU/Swiss-based hosting provider on our behalf, under a data processing agreement. The provider stores standard server access logs (see § 3) for a maximum of 14 days for security and troubleshooting purposes.
[PLACEHOLDER — replace this paragraph with your actual hosting provider once known, e.g.: “Hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany.”]
This website does not set any tracking cookies and does not use third-party analytics by default. We use only the browser’s localStorage to remember your preferences (accent colour, fog toggle, font). No personal data is associated with these values and they are never transmitted to our servers.
You can clear local storage for this site at any time via your browser’s privacy settings.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your e-mail address and the subscription timestamp to send you periodic updates about the game. We use a double opt-in procedure: subscription only becomes active after you confirm via the e-mail we send you.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter, or by writing to support@duskvein.com. Upon unsubscription, your address is removed from the active list.
[PLACEHOLDER — replace this paragraph with your actual newsletter provider, e.g. Brevo, Beehiiv, or MailerLite, and where that provider stores data.]
If you write to support@duskvein.com or use the contact form, your message and contact details are processed solely to handle your request. Messages are stored in our mailbox for as long as necessary to resolve the matter and for a reasonable period afterwards for documentation.
Duskvein is distributed through Steam (Valve Corporation). When you buy, install, or play the game, Steam processes your data according to its privacy policy. We receive only aggregate / pseudonymous Steam developer data (e.g. wishlist counts, regional sales, crash reports), never your personal account details.
The game itself stores your save files locally and (if you have it enabled) via Steam Cloud. Save data is not transmitted to TastyDev unless you attach it to a support request yourself.
We use third-party services in a strictly limited way:
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the stated purposes:
You have the right to:
This website and Duskvein are not aimed at children under 13 (or under the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
We may update this policy as the game and services evolve. The current version is always available at duskvein.com/privacy.html, with the effective date shown at the top.
For any data-protection question or request, simply write to support@duskvein.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
This policy is provided in good faith and follows common Swiss / EU practice. It is not a substitute for legal advice. Marked [PLACEHOLDER] sections should be reviewed by a lawyer familiar with your final stack and operations before publication.
